Why Use Critical Blades?

Critical Blades is designed for heroes that want to maximize the damage of their critical strikes. The item provides a small amount of Critical Strike Chance, but its primary strength comes from increasing the maximum Critical Damage bonus. This means that whenever a critical strike occurs, it deals substantially more damage than a normal critical strike. The item also provides Spell Power, making it useful for heroes whose abilities scale with Spell Power while still relying on physical damage. For some heroes, Critical Blades can dramatically increase burst damage and create opportunities to eliminate enemies before they can react.

Shadow Fury

Critical Blades is one of the signature items for Shadow Fury. Spell Power improves her abilities, including her charged attack. The additional Critical Strike Chance increases the likelihood of landing devastating critical hits. Most importantly, the increased Critical Damage multiplier allows her charged attacks to deal significantly more damage, making one-shot eliminations much more realistic.

Spiritmonger gains surprising value from Critical Blades. Her Soul Collection ability deals physical damage, allowing it to benefit from the increased Critical Damage multiplier. Critical Blades can be effective on Death Slayer, especially in damage-oriented builds. Death Slayer already has access to Critical Strike mechanics through his abilities.
